Paula Hilton, RAc
Paula is a Charlottetown native, and graduate of St.F.X. Upon completing university, worked in Ottawa at a number of National Sport Organizations as Projects Coordinator.
A vacation to California eventually turned into a permanent residence and new home, and the field of Massage Therapy became an exciting new career. After receiving a Professional Certificate from San Diego’s International Professional School of Bodywork (1991), Paula moved to San Francisco as a Certified Massage Therapist.
After 5 years of bodywork experience, and a strong desire to continue learning about the body’s ability to heal, it was a natural progression to return to school to earn a Master of Science Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Meiji College of Oriental Medicine in Berkeley, CA (1996-1999). Paula has been licensed and practicing acupuncture with the California Acupuncture Board ever since.
The strong influence of TCM in Northern California gave way to easy access to many skilled teachers, practitioners and mentors. After spending more than 2 decades in California, Paula has returned to the island with a passion to help improve the health and well-being of islanders through TCM.
Acupuncture, herbal therapy, auricular therapy, cupping, electric-stim, acupressure, facial acupuncture, Traditional Thai Massage, nutritional counselling are some of the modalities used in practice.
Additionally, Paula is certified in the Vodder style Manual Lymphatic Drainage, a very effective method to decongest the body as well as bring fluid balance within the body.
Paula is an avid cyclist and yoga enthusiast.
